CLIMATECHECK™

ClimateCheck™ is an integrated climate solution available within our flagship environmental reports EnviroAssure and Enviro360. ClimateCheck™ enables solicitors and their clients to assess future climate impacts which could affect a property’s value, usability, cost of upkeep and ease of securing affordable lending and insurance coverage.

CLIMATECHECK™ FEATURES

  • A summarised view of exposure to coastal erosion, subsidence and flooding risk by 2050 using the UKCP18 models and a consistent view across climate scenarios (RCP4.5 — widely considered to be the most probable scenario), with additional short-term projections for 2030.
  • Best-in-Class Data & Modelling - Key data and modelling developed by in-house climate experts and data scientists coupled with the highest quality government and partner data.
  • Provides commentary on transitional risks such as EPC.
  • Uses tailored recommendations and equips end-users with proactive strategies to navigate environmental challenges confidently, including commentary on potential insurability considerations.
  • NEW! In line with the publication of the Law Society Practice Note, we have added a Heat Stress analysis to ClimateCheck™

    What is Heat Stress?
Heat Stress refers to the potential for the accumulation of excessive heat in buildings. Excessive heat can create uncomfortable conditions for occupants, and make sleeping particularly difficult. In extreme cases, Heat Stress can exacerbate health concerns.

What does the new Heat Stress section deliver?
Based on an aggregated model from the Met Office, the new Heat Stress section offers clients an indication of the following at a local level (1km):
    1. the potential Change in Peak Annual Temperature at 2050; and
    2. the potential change in the number of days which would qualify as 'Heatwave Days' under Met Office temperature thresholds at 2050.
In both instances, to enable a contextual view, end users can compare the local results with the national averages generated by the same model.
